How to Eat Healthy on Vacation - Day 2

The following are pictures of what I ate today on vacation, in my attempt to eat healthy away from home. Remember, I am following the paleo diet combined with nutritional typing. There will be lots of meat in these meals and low carbs because I am a protein type under the nutritional typing system. Not everyone should eat as much meat as me, it depends on your nutritional type. For me, I need lots of meat in order to be healthy.

I believe that nutritional typing combined with the paleo diet is one of the healthiest diets anyone can eat. When I eat correctly like this, I literally never get sick and feel great on a consistent basis.

And on to the meals:

Leftover chicken + beef jerky. Good…but not enough fat…still felt pretty hungry afterward.

And then meal #2…:

These two were combined to make a nice snack. The salami was especially filling because my first meal of the day was very low fat. There was a surprising amount of fat in the salami, which was very good because I had been eating so many lean meats. Strangely enough, the salami had “pork hearts” in it…which was kinda cool. Unfortunately it also had a bunch of other awful preservatives and chemicals.

I had already eaten most of this meal before I took this picture…imagine a big bowl full of ground beef and broccoli with himalayan sea salt (I brought this with me on this trip) sprinkled on top.

I am starting to cheat with these meals…I arrived at my vacation destination and now I have access to a grocery store and kitchen so I can make my own meals.

Another “vacation-home-made” meal. Ground beef and an apple. Very filling, very good.

Overall today went great. Felt good and all of my health markers that I like to keep track of like clear skin, energy, etc., went well throughout the day. I felt a bit hyper after eating all that salami…I think those additives were doing some weird things to me…definitely wouldn’t want to eat salami like that all the time, but it was good enough as a temporary vacation eating solution.

Dylan:

I get a few marks every once in a while when I cheat. Like a week or so ago, I ate some mayonnaise and butter, and got a few small marks on my back. If my diet is perfect though, I never get any acne, ever.

Don’t knock the ground beef and apple :D … it is one of the best meals ever :D .

what is the perfect diet for you?

Baumgardner:

It’s the paleo diet combined with nutritional typing. Because I’m a protein type in the nutritional typing system, it means I eat a lot of meat with some fruits and vegetables.
